Penguin Books has published:
"How a community conservation project is saving New Zealand's endangered kiwi on the Coromandel Peninsula.
New Zealand’s wild kiwi population is under serious threat in a hostile environment where predators rule and few chicks reach adulthood. But for those birds living on an isolated stretch of Coromandel Peninsula survival rates are vastly improved thanks to this country’s first community-led kiwi conservation project. Over the last 20 years, Project Kiwi has become the ‘poster child’ of community conservation, controlling pests and predators that could harm vulnerable birds. Warwick Wilson is the man at the heart of this endeavour. It’s his glorious coastal property that is home to the project and his unflinching love for the land – as well as his full-throttle approach to life - that have helped ensure its success. This unique story brings together a curious little flightless creature and a cast of utterly dedicated Kiwi characters who are intent on saving our beloved national bird."
